This post has few words. Instead, the children and I have put together a ‘mood board’ of our summer holiday. It’s fun to do and makes a lovely digital keepsake. All you need is a good camera and willing participants. We hope you enjoy our festive collection of memories. Double click on any of the images if you wish to see a larger version. x
Each of these photos was taken on a truly remarkable little camera, the Panasonic Lumix GM1. I didn’t use any filters or enhance the photos in anyway and used only its standard lens. They are a million times better than anything I could hope to capture using an iPhone.
Sturdy and pocket-sized, it has all the functions of a large (expensive) SLR but is small so you can toss it into your bag and use it at will ~ which I do and it’s still in one piece. I haven’t taken a photo using the iPhone since I got it and probably never will again. Truth is, the quality just isn’t there and the GM1 offers all the flexibility of an iPhone and some.
The thing I love most about the GM1 apart from its size, is that it’s an interchangeable lens camera so if you do want to shoot manually or use a variety of different lenses you can.
And for the social media junkie that I am, I ADORE it’s Wi-Fi functionality. It can be instantly connected to smartphones and tablets, allowing me to shoot and share right then and there rather than having to wait until I get home and download to the computer. It also has a function which turns your smartphone into a remote for the camera. I love that function! I can Facebook, Instagram and Tweet images at the touch of a button. It’s so very clever. If you’re looking to treat yourself to a new camera, I highly recommend you consider buying this one. You can pick one up for under $800 which isn’t cheap but crikey I think it’s worth it.
This is not a sponsored post, although I wish it were because I’d LOVE Panasonic to give me one to offer to one of my readers. Wouldn’t that be great? Maybe one day…
Until next time.

Love these photos !! I have used the Panasonic a lot too but still use the phone. I do find the lack of viewfinder on both a pain. How do you manage when it’s sunny and bright outdoors. I need tips.
You have done a lovely project with your kids here.

Seana, I use a small piece of card to hold over the top. I agree, its problematic. x
