I love May. Not only do I get to celebrate my birthday, but in my part of the world it is autumn; my favourite season by far. Skies are impossibly blue, the nights are crisp (so fires will be lit) and the changing leaves provide a panoply of every colour throughout the ‘burbs. All good right? Except that sometime early in the month I lost my writing mojo. I’ll be stuffed if I know where she’s gone. No doubt hiding where all the odd socks reside. And what’s worse is that until today I’ve not even been interested in looking for her. Maybe she’s hiding because it’s hard to find much joy in the world nowadays. Such hatred and ignorance all laced with a daily dose of idiocy provided by the worst President in U.S. history. Such a grub of a man, he gives me bilious attacks every other day.
So, rather than write, I’ve been knitting myself stupid ~ my children are now the proud owners of scarves that look like something Mrs Weasley might have made Ron and I’ve been taking photos of everything within a 5 kilometre radius during our daily morning walks. I’ve also been cooking some sensational meals thanks to the team at Feather and Bone. I’ve been doing nothing extraordinary. Just trying to find a little wonder in each day and build upon the tapestry of small moments that become our lives whether we are aware of it or not. I am also trying very hard (and failing) to shake a serious dose of Trumphitis.
When I find my mojo I will write some more. Until then, welcome to the month of May via some of my images.
So there you have it. Nothing exciting. All a bit mundane really. But each moment made my heart happy and content.
Here’s to a June overflowing with words. And if you’re looking for a special gift, consider my book. Available internationally at all good bookstores or online.
Until next time…

Hello Caro, welcome back, there’s nothing wrong with lying fallow wordswise for a wee while. I do look forward to a catchup in real life one sunny day. We are converted to country living on our Orange sabbatical, it will be a shock to be back in Sydney full-time after October ends…. hmmm…. I do love our pix. I’ve been posting on my site but not taking photos at all recently.
