The best day of my blogging life. Seriously…

IMG_7057I’ve had a blog for around 3 years now.  I started it as a way of continuing my desire to write about any and everything, but mostly I wanted to maintain dialogue about the need to keep kids connected to nature and outdoors after my book was published.

Truth be told, I fully expected that it would be read by me, my mama, a few patient friends and every now and then, my children. But by crikey, its readership grew and grew and I now have the loveliest relationship with some loyal subscribers. Thank you!

I’ve come to realise that having a blog is not only a wonderful way of disseminating information but also a unique way of gathering it, and importantly it’s also my way of supporting the ever growing community of Australian bloggers – I am constantly amazed by the skill, passion and talent that is waiting in my in-box each morning.

And now today, the most wonderful thing has happened.  Confirmation came through that I have been appointed one of World Vision’s Blogging Ambassadors!  You should have seen the happy dances that occurred in my kitchen. I embarrassed even myself. I yelped and whooped and then I got all teary as I thought of the 5 beautiful children my kids and I have sponsored for over 10 years.  I now have the opportunity to give back in another different, but to my mind, equally important way.  It really makes my heart sing.

Over the coming months and years, I do hope you’ll allow me to showcase the work of World Vision both through my blog and on social media.  The other blogging ambassadors are an amazing bunch of people and I’m SO excited and proud to be part of the team.

You can find out more about the ambassador programme here and please take a few minutes to a explore the World Vision site and the myriad ways you can contribute.

Until next time….

Awesome to have you on the team! We got a chance to visit some of the work of World Vision in Mexico and it was so inspiring to see people becoming self sufficient and the pride they had in being able to care for their families. So so cool!

And Could You be any more AMAZING? Congratulations Caro! I’m sure You were so thrilled, and I can almost picture that dance! The only thing that could have possibly given Me more Joy….to be there dancing with You! Your Blog has long enticed and delighted Me, the Lady with no Children; and yet I sit and wait to see the next lifetime Journey You introduce Your wee ones to! Watching like so many, as Grace and Angus have grown in to, well rounded, informed, socially conscious, creative Young adults! I am so Happy for You!
